The following problems are fixed in version 4.0.5.17/.22: All affected SEP sesam Server, Client and RDS systems must be updated immediately.

All Sesam Server Version >= 4.0.1.1

In all SEP sesam server versions between 4.0.1.1 and 4.0.3.30 for Linux, Unix and Microsoft Windows operating systems a media can be overwritten during media initialization. An upgrade to an appropriate version or recent version 4.0.5.22 for all SEP sesam server is required immediately.

SEP sesam version 4.0.5 released

Please read the release notes to find out all fixes and changes.

To use SEP sesam you have to install one server package first. Sesam server already includes Sesam GUI and client. That's all for backing up a single computer.
Afterwards you can install client packages on every computer in your network you want to backup.
Sesam GUI is used for administrating a Sesam server from another computer in your network. To backup databases online you will find the appropiate modules under extensions.

To set up your system the Quick Install Guide is recommended.
